Thanks Ian, i have nade some more scratch build for the cockpit floor and will be posting shortly when i get the camera out. Thanks also Graham. I have noted your comments and amendments will be made. I decided only a few days ago that that radiator has to go, so much for it stating that it is a scale radiator kit. I will scratch build this also as im not at all happy with it having put it tohgether and seen the finished product, im sure you will approve of the end result. The tail i will look into when i get that end.

    Thanks guys

    Andy

Here are the pics i promised earlier. set to work on making the rudder control and the spare Magazine rack for the lewis gun. I also finished and added the res tank. In the clamps you will see the cables for the ruddr control, painted and ready to fit. I cant fit anything in position just yet as im waiting for the pilot to turn up off leave lol.

I am progressing well with the cockpit floor. You can see a picture of the Trim Wheel and Bell Crank. I have completed the Trim Wheel and will complete the Bell Crank when the seating has been positioned. I have located a Pilot and he will be here tomorrow, ill post some pics of him. I have also made some brackets from Brass stock and painted them, i will show these in position tomorrow when dry.

I have also treated myself to a large flight box, now i have three, lol. Two for sale if anyone is interested.

Here is the Trim Wheel finished and in place, you can also see the metal clamps that i showed yesterday all in place. One is the combined mount for the Trim Wheel.

This next post is the construction of the Bell Crank that is to be located below the seat. Aileron Trim i believe.

There is some fantastic detail work going in that cock pit Andy. I know the model is big which makes it a bit easier but dude thats some fiddly stuff you are doing there!

Thanks Ian, i love the scratch building of cockpits and yes, the bigger scale makes it a little more easy to build and to add more detail that looks almost exact. It stretches my mind a little, looking around the workshop and thinking what i can use to replicate the parts. You can end up cutting up all sorts of things lol.

                    Cheers

As the 1/4 scale pilot was too big for the 1/4 scale plane i have decided to move onto that offending Radiator. This is what it should look like. You will see i have made a decent start.

The radiator has a flat cover plate between the 2 radiator header tanks. It's rather difficult to tell from most photos of the full size, in fact when I designed my SE5a I had a round top until I went to Shuttleworth and got a close up view of the full sized.

This is the best photo I've got that shows the cover plate.

Don't know what went wrong with the photo, hopefully this one's at full size!

It was a bit of a rush job last night but I've just taken a new photo of the radiator front, which shows the detail and shape a lot better.
