    Eduard 1/48 Albatros D.III

    Hey all,

This is my very first post on this forum (if I remember correctly, lol).

Here are a few pics of my 1/48 Eduard Albatros D.III. Granted it's not a Tamiya or Dragon kit, but still really nice quality - lovely little kit!

    All comments welcome..

Looks very good. Is the Fuselage paint or decal. Either way it looks very nice.

          Hi Ian,

The fuselage is painted. Started off with a base of 50/50 Tamiya Buff and Flat White, followed by a mixture of Burnt Sienna, Yellow Ochre and Raw Umber oils in a 1:1:2 ratio. I then used a paper towel to rub off the excess oil paint and create the woodgrain effect. Then afterwards i simply brushed some of the panels in a 90degree angle to have variation in the woodgrain.

          Regards,

          Quintin

It looks great Quintin. I've built a couple of Eduard WW1 planes myself and really like the kits.

                Hey all,

Herewith a short update. Bottom wing mounted, tail sections mounted and undercarriage done. Now it's only the rigging and then the top wing can also be completed.

                Hope you like so far...

10 out of 10 for the wood effect.
