I built all the original Airfix 110 many years ago and the fit was bad, rivets like a porcupine and the canopy was thicker than milk bottles! Can't believe I missed the new tool release, could have bought this set for ยฃ10!

I've got what you might call the basic camouflage on both models.
I've lightened all the colours for the small scale and increased the contrast between the RLM 70 and 71 on the Bf 110, though it is still a low contrast scheme.
If you look at B+W photos of this scheme it is difficult to tell that there are two colours but I feel they need to be slightly more differentiated on a model. It's one of those artistic decisions

Ripping right along Steve, nice job masking those tiny panes(pains). The finish on both is looking great!Comment

Steve, great twin build right there, could never do that myself, I would cross mix all the parts up from both kits lol. The paint job is superb, can't wait till I see the finish product on the stand.

Nearly there.
Just the 'dangly bits' and a bit of weathering/staining to do before I attach these to the stand. I will leave the varnish to cure overnight before attempting that.
The aeroplanes will be in flight, so I've done my usual routine of omitting the propeller blades and filling the spinners.
The Spitfire hasn't fired its guns and I've applied the gun patches, made from decal paper painted red. They are minute in this scale and I can't begin to tell you how much fun I had doing it

Been away for a little while so I'm just catching up with a few things.
These little Airfix kits look very good indeed and you've made a superb job of finishing them. I say finished because it seems this build is very near to the finish line!
Great stuff

I'll finish them tomorrow with a bit of luck
I won't put on spinning propeller blades. 'Propblurs' are probably the best but not to my taste, I prefer to leave them off and just fill the holes in the spinners where the propellers would have been. It's a personal choice. When I watch aeroplanes at air shows I just can't see a propeller disc at all from a couple of hundred yards away!
