Only problem with a Maplin lamp above is where to put it. It has to be on the front of the work top.

But solved that after 4 years of having this lovely lamp always in the way. I found a supplier who sold a unit you screw to the top of the work top which the lamp end peg sits in. Now I work in perfection wonderingly lovingly with an eye on this little work top saviour of my distress.

Amazing when I started about 5 years ago now that lamp was being sold for around £50 plus.

Ooh, I don't suppose you have a link for that? As you say, it has to be on the front edge, I've settled for it, but it would be so much better a bit further back!

Well here it is John. You may not want to know as the price of these things has rocketed. Believe Shesto are the distributors and they are the most expensive on the globe. Buy from them and it is near £15 plus delivery.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lightcraft-LC8064-BB-Bench-Bracket/dp/B00FLZRAL6 Can not believe such a simple thing can be so expensive. mine cost approx £7:50 a go.
