That is looking amazing Theuns, I'm a civilian Apache enthusiast, having lived and been schooled very close to the original AAC Apache Training Sqd. I love the added mounts you've made for the 30mm cannon.

Hoed-nam you say.....sounds way to much like AFB Hoedspruit. During basics I was nearly posted there.....dodged that bullet by the skin of my teeth and went on to become a Loady at AFB Swkps instead :-)

I was nearly sent to "Bloem", 1 Infantry Battalion - "Cannon Fodder".

You would have loved the weather in "Hoed'Nam"....."Hot as Hell"!! Its a good excuse for "biere vir die spiere"!

Maybe that's why we had the highest alcohol comsumption in the SAAF????

The SAAF always had the best pubs of any base :-)

I grew up in Phalaborwa so I know what hot is....high 30's to low 40's nothing special...I am a bosveld oke by heart, now I reside in JHB :-(

I recall walking home fro m school one day and when I looked back I could see my footprints in the soft tar, is was so hot the outside pool was as hot as a bath....ah good times

Remember the comedian Joe Parker...... "They patrol the camps at night, in fast Jeeps! They are known as 'Korporaal'!!"

To mention one of his many hilarious military skits....

We have moved on and are in our own respective "big smokes", up and onwards!!

Keep up the good work on your build!

                      Cheers!

Just looked at a PTI badge now, the crossed sabre swards above the corpral stripes...still get shivers when I see the "pik stel"

I actually did another 6 years PF after that , so I could not have been "messed up" to badly.
