Hi folks next victim on the bench/mat the Wessex from Revell 133 pieces progress shots to follow. Thanks for looking in and any comments/help or advice.
Looks a nice clean kit from Revell and I'm definatly going to be watching you create this
Are you going OOB?
Regards
Robert
I mainly only do OOB Robert as I can't be bothered finding all the after market bits. I've tried looking on hannants in the past but couldn't be bothered navigating their systems/stock etc so kinda gave up.
Hannants has to be the worst website for finding stuff unless you know exactly what you are looking for. I wanted some gun barrels a few years back and I couldn't find them so I ordered from Poland. When I got the bits I was able to locate them at Hannants using part numbers and other references, direct from Poland was cheaper anyway.
Classic helicopter so will be worth watching. Are you keeping the yellow and blue scheme? Looks very nice.
A little progress update with some parts assembled and dry fitting the hull goes together very nicely and there should be no need for filler at all
The only issue so far was the small rear rotor blades which are very delicate and I broke 3 out of 4 removing them from the sprue gates and no I didn't go in like a bull in a china shop more like bomb defuser guy with sweaty brow and steady hands.( so if you ever get the kit watch out for these)
My Magic power bond 806 super glue saved the day here and I can't recommend it highly enough.
That said its a really nice kit with decent detailing maybe a little lacking in the cockpit area but I'm really enjoying it so far the guy in the shop told me it was a matchbox re boxing. So if you ever consider the kit I'd recommend it.
Cheers for looking in more later.......................................

Yes Graham I'll be going with the box art scheme yellow/blue. And I totally agree with you concerning Hannants and I'm sure I'd use after market parts if they were easier to source/find.
Off to the LMS for some supplies for this kit as I have no tamiya red clear for beacon lights or maskol for clear parts. I promise to ignore all the models in the shop and run straight past them to the paint stands and run straight back out again only focusing on the floor as I do.ops:
I look forward to seeing this one. That yellow and blue scheme is very appealing. I built the Italeri Wessex HU5, and at 1:48 was a bit surprised how big it was.
Hi everyone time for some interior paint. Ooooooo how I hate revell and their painting guides 75% here 25% there so it's off to conversion charts again! Revell > Model Air I'm that frustrated as you can see I've punched my egg n now I have to eat it all More later cheers John
