Today was a better, (dry) day for accessing the garage to sit at the bench.

Two days after the decals were applied I checked if any more Micro Sol was needed - all looked good so I went for the next stage. Matt Glass coat.

BUT not before attaching the pilots handles for climbing into the cockpit.

After preparing a suitable amount of gloss, thinner, improver mix I set about the final coat of gloss secure everything in place. Fuselage and rotor assemblies now curing. Next stop - a Flory 'Grime' was then yet another 24 hour wait before I can remove that. (I am dreading removing the masking from the windows especially the port centre window which was the window I had to install after putting the two fuselage half together. (Page 4 Post ⌗74)

That was it for today - I did tidy up the Bench area including emptying and cleaning out the bowl for collecting waste chemicals from the airbrush and give myself some additional shelf space. So time for ☕. ???'s

Well it is getting less and less ugly with every step indeed, it sort of reminds me of the type of aircraft used in the original Thunderbirds are go series

I'm getting more used to its shape as time passes.

Hopefully by the end of the week it'll be suitably 'used' looking.

Started on removing the wash! Not as straight forward as the Flory video's but he was doing a Hunter and it has a load less sticky out bits!! Still, it's a start.

Lot more work to be done obviously!!

                  Question.
How do you guys get into the real awkward places, the hand holds are proving difficult to clean up??

                  As usual, C&C's most welcome.

                    Coming along nicely Doug,
tamiya do some small pointy cotton buds that may be of use for getting In those awkward places.

Thanks Mark, I'll remember that for next time. (Mmmm, methinks I may have some pointy things left over from Covid!! - I'll check tomorrow!)

Looking great Doug, the wash has certainly brought out the detail. I've never had the courage to cover a model completely in a wash. Cotton buds with pointed ends are good, or a piece of paper towel wrapped around a tweezer tip will get into those nooks and crannies. The carpet monster awaits...

Cheers Joe, I have to admit I was mega impressed at the detail that became evident when I wiped the wash from the rotor blades. All the pockets well defined. I like the paper towel around the tweezer tip, that may just get me past the finishing post this time.

                    Update.
I managed to remove 95% of the wash so still some fine tuning. The tip about the tweezer with some paper wrapped round the points worked and also nicking a couple, (lots), of my wife's more expensive cotton buds was a great help getting into the smallest gaps.
The masking both tape and liquid were removed from the windows. Looks way better now although I have been asking why I bothered doing so much interior work!!!!! Can see very little of the innards!!!!

However!!! I hit two snags. One of the pilots tiny hand holds has vaporised!! No idea where it's gone!! (I haven't thrown anything away so hopefully it'll turn up - one day). The second and more annoying, one of the front transparent panels is scored. I'll have to live with it I guess, way too deep to even think about polishing out.
I was too angry with myself to take pics. If the weather improves I will venture into the garage to snap a couple.
Until then, I hope the weather is better where you are.
                    Doug

Rain stopped for a short while so took a couple of shots. You can see the score on the front lower transparent section (Red Arrowed No 1). Really annoyed with myself!! Arrowed No 2 is the starboard pilots hand hold, it's the port side that has disappeared into the ether!!!
