That wash has worked really well. A bit frightening when first applied.

Frightening - scared the living crepe out of me. But that Flory wash - yeah, very nice ‘stuff’.

Thanks Anrie. Just need to access the bench to finish it now. 98% complete - so annoying.

Just catching up with your build Doug, you’ve done a superb job as usual ?

I wouldn’t call it ugly though more functional, certainly unique.

I find micro brushes useful for cleaning small, awkward areas if it’s any help for the future ?

        Geoff.

Thanks Geoff. Certainly functional. I do like the coaxial rotor head. Complicated but does the job. A lot more stable in the hover I’m told. Cheers about the micro brushes. (Xmas looms so added to my wish list).

That is a shame Doug but I think we have all experienced something similar. The model still looks amazing. Is it worth trying to get a replacement part either from the manufacturer or putting the shout out in the "Parts wanted" thread on this forum. I wish I could advise you on a repair but I havent got a clue how to go about doing it.

Steve, during my prolonged absence, I have had much time to think upon the parts. The hand grip and pitot tubes will be replaced with fine metal wire/staple or similar. The transparent panel will just be a bird strike if anyone spots it. A little smudgy blob of something in the middle of the ‘crack’ will do the trick. Once had a seabird crack a front winscreen on a Sea King so it does happen!!!!

A bit'a'wire should do the grab. Score looks like a big bird strike. Great outcome.

Bird strike - we think along the same lines Paul.
