    Airfix 1/72 Puma

While I am waiting for the Mil 24's decals I started this little Puma.

It will be done in the colours of the SAAF early helos used in SWA and Angola during the bush war.

My first helo ride during Air Force training was in the back of one of these French Beauts :-)

The fuse went together nicely but the round sponsons are incorrect for later SAAF Pumas. I added some flat sheet and filler to get the right shape. As for the fit of the fuse/sponson joint it is very good (not really what I expected from this kitmaker LOL!)

This is coming along nicely Theuns. I also popped in for a look a few days ago and saw your good work on the exhausts.

Hi guys, I completed my Puma. The paints were Hu 29 and 30, Pastel dust for the exhaust stains and all sealed with matt future.

The puma I modeled lost it's tail rotor in Angola and had a new tailboom flown in and fitted in field. The nose # 1s 156 and the new boom # is 143.

                Nice work

I'll have to finish the 1/32nd scale model I have of this one - It's an original Matchbox kit, currently sat in my shed.

That old 1/32 is a highly prized kit here in SA. I built one very many moons ago, it is a big model!
