    Airfix Saab Draken 1/72

This is one of only two models I have that are posed in flight. It's the old Airfix Draken, a fairly basic kit and apparently not particularly accurate, but it still looks like a Draken It was re-scribed, and I made new decals for it. The base is a simple acrylic block with an old paintbrush handle set in a drilled hole, and then sprayed matt black.

U normally prefer older planes but I must admit I like that a lot! Never heard of a Draken before.

Mike your color modulation is outstanding and at 1/72 to boot! I'm amazed at how you've subtly varied the colors top and bottom without it being over done, just right it is ! Very nicely done Sir!

Superb work Mike. I would never have guessed it was the Airfix ancient kit. Nicely displayed and photographed again, your works are very inspirational.

Beautiful build of a beautiful 'plane! Does anyone make a decent version of this? The only ones I've come across all have problems with quality/accuracy.

Thanks Gern. Hasegawa make superb Draken kits in both 72 and 48 scale.
