Over on one of the other forums they hold regular Blitzbaus: group builds in which an entrant attempts to build a model of his/her choice in a 24-hour period. (That's 24 consecutive hours, not 24 actual building hours unless you're willing to forego food and sleep). Obviously it can't compete with Si and Alan's 3-hour builds, but I still found it quite a challenge. Participants are encouraged to document their progress with pictures of the model being assembled, photographed with a clock.
I've taken part in four of these GBs, and failed (miserably) once when I attempted to do too much. Here are the three that I managed to build, each in one day:-
Heller 1/72 Magister in Finnish AF markings. Did some simple re-scribing and added a bit of extra cockpit detail on this.
Matchbox 1/72 Gladiator in Lithuanian markings. I only just scraped in with minutes to spare on this one, the rigging (with EZLine) nearly cost me.
Huma 1/72 Arado Ar-80. Perfect Blitzbau subject: simple, well-fitting kit, one colour overall, this was actually finished with time to spare.
