Just notice the AK paints Barry. Could you tell me more (if there is ). What improvement in actual finish is there. I take it that they are also better with smaller needle/nozzles and if so must be good for close and detailed work. Also the washes are these acrylic or enamel.
I find the AK paints having all the good points of Vallejo Model Air but better. They also brush well.
Most of all though I like the colour sets. I have never been totally happy with the Vallejo paints for selecting RAF camo. The colours just seem right to me with AK and they are adjusted for scale effect. Using these sets take guesswork out of the colours.
I have the RAF Luftwaffe (2 sets) and the new IJN set. They are bringing out new sets regularly and the colours will be individually available soon.
The washes are enamel and again they are good to work with and can provide some great effects. Lots of online tutorials are available on using them. John has them in the shop look under weathering sets including for the paints.
