    1/72 Airfix de Havilland Vampire T11 A02058

The first of two Vampire T11 kits built simultaneously (no build thread posted for these, but have included progress shots below). You have a choice of two Vampire T11 trainer schemes, either WZ507 in the familiar silver with yellow stripes, now flown by the Vampire Preservation Group UK, or a dayglo and silver version from No.5 FTS at RAF Oakington in 1962. I modelled WZ507.

First, some extra detail was added, with straps and ejection handles (seen later). I used a dark grey for the interior and discreet silver scrape marks:

    The production line:

A really pleasant kit to build. The only fit issues were around the underside at the wing joins and the intakes. Nothing serious though, and the final result is a pleasing rendition of the classic Vampire trainer.

I was trying to get them done by the end of '14 but as is often the way I completed them on the 1st January. Our internet went down so was unable to post until today.

              Glad you like them guys.
