Hi guys!!
Next strike from my workbench......
In April 1938 Werner Mölders began participation in the Spanish Civil War as a member of the "Condor Legion" who fought on Franco's side. On 25 May 1938 he took over the 3rd squadron of the "Jagdgruppe 88" by Adolf Galland, who was at that time still equipped with He 51 and was mainly used to fight ground targets near the front .
This changed in July 1938 with the arrival of new fighter type aircraft Messerschmitt Bf 109 D, with the complete hunting group was equipped. Now they flew fighter escort for Bombers and Stukas during the Battle of the Ebro sheet of La Senia.
With 14 victories Mölders was one of the most successful fighter pilots on the part of the nationalists.
During its operation in Spain Mölders refined the new air combat tactics known as the four-aircraft Finger-four developed by Günther Lützow. This battle formation offered advantages in self-defense and attack and was gradually in all air forces of the world standard.
After his return Mölders was first on the staff service in Berlin, where he documented the new tactics and knowledge mediated in various squadron visits in 1939 to pilot his comrades.
Kit: Academy..........o.k.o_O
Painting: Vallejo, Revell, Model Master
Weathering: dilute oil paints and various pastels
Cheers
Stefan
