Academy 1/72 Hawker Tempest Dual build

Build thread and explanation of how I came to these schemes in the build log here: https://www.scalemodelling.co.uk/for...t-v-dual-build

First up is NV994 JF-E of No.3 Squadron flown by Flight Lieutenant Pierre Clostermann, April 1945. This was prior to application of the famous colourful scheme that is seen on his aeroplane post-war.

    The real NV944:

The 'shadow' around the squadron codes on the white bands are scruffy intentionally, these were highlighted by this squadron around the hand-painted invasion stripes.

Hope you enjoy the finished builds. It's not a bad kit, but more than likely well and truly superseded by the Airfix offering. It is, however, available at a fraction of the cost and if you have access to aftermarket decals it doesn't come out too badly at all. Additions to JN821 were the canon barrels, and on both the whip aerials.
