    Airfix 1:72 EE Lightning

finally done! It took a while but i got there, the finish isn't good but practice should help that Im still new to airbrushing.

i found the canopy a poor fit but did my best and Im still getting silvered decals i did do 2 coats of gloss before applying them hoping that may help but they still didn't go on well and I had my first attempt at pin washing.

For some reason I can't take good pictures and they seem to come out wrong ways up.

    Any comments/advice welcome

that's an excellent idea for displaying the model, remember reading one of Chris Allens books and him quoting when asked by Binbrook control his heading, he replied 'vertical' !!!. Great build and painting as well

I pick up oddments of timber so this is a piece of Iroko I think, then just drilled for acrylic rod which I sprayed. I haven't added the pitot tube as I don't think it'll last long on the model I have kept it to one side though.

Thanks chaps I wanted to display it vertical as that's how I remember seeing them going up at Coningsby.

Thanks I appreciate the positive comments the pin wash is something I'll try again but may be not with acrylic I found it dried to quickly and I had trouble removing it from surrounding areas.
