This is the old 1965 Airfix Vanguard, recently re-released with new decals and box art. I re-scribed it, replaced the kit windows with clear resin and added a few details here and there (including a flight-deck/cockpit of which nothing can be seen). Full build article in the current Airfix mag. (thanks to Ritchi from this forum for his help with the window masks...)

Lovely job Mike, remember flying in these between Glasgow/London, seem to remember they were a bit cramped inside.Comment

I love this Mike , I really have a fondness for the old turboprop airliners , I'm lucky to be old enough (just ! no sniggering at the back ) to remember seeing propliners on the few occasions i went to the airport with my Dad , dropping relatives off. Viscounts ,Vanguards ,Britannias , Argosies , hs 748's , all in the twilight of their careers but wonderful to see . This is a superb build , making a quite basic old kit look like a brand new latest technology release , superb work (and photography ,as always ) Great build , cheers tonyComment
