Hi Ian, Quite simply a very talented modelmaker. Due to my age making a model has become difficult but I still love my models, so this is the only way now, and I still want to share with everyone

Absoliutely superb. It has the presence, the detail and the charisma of the real thing. The internal detail is particularly impressive, always important with such a big open cockpit.

Otherside of the completed cockpit, note the rolled up maps in the side pockets to side of pilots seat, as well as on the table

Again not seen on many model's the tabo arms

One part of the PE that hits you in the face is the nose fitment ring, looks lovely and authentic.

The 1/48 Tamiya model has problems some but not all, have been corrected by Ian they ranged to badly fitting engine's with plenty of gaps, then wrong details on the model, such as different size escape hatches one large one small (should be the same). Front turret framing is completely wrong so it has to be removed after polishing back to clear glass, hard masking up ready for painting, as there are no such lines you have to carefully measure everything. Very hard to do was fill in the windows that comes on the kit and then make a new navigators one in the correct place. The name 'Lovely Lou'' on the decal sheet is way to 'Big' so a new one made, same with the 'L' each side of the nose blister one was large one small, decals were same size, so one is painted on. There's alot of knowledge about the faults of the 1/48 lanc and alot of builds fix them but I have seen many a good build spolit by the fact that if using the kits decals the roundles are the wrong size they are indeed the size that would be for the Manchester and not the Lancaster. Ian was most pleased with the little modification on the kit's square bomb viewing window in the nose to an oval! which it should be. As far as we know no one has done this little mod' to the kit. The engine exhaust's have no flame dampers fitted this is faithful to the real aircraft.

I am now a very proud owner of what ranks as my best model in my collection
