Airfix 1971 1/72 Islander SOS kit

Hi everyone I've managed to complete this little 1/72 Airfix islander. It came as a job lot from a "friend" lol who promised everything was in good order inside. From the 15 I acquired from him 6 have been scraped due to missing parts like fuselages! All of the 9 remaining kits are in similar condition to this one. So never trust your mates and always look in the box when buying secondhand kits lol.

Anyways I set the fairy power spray into action and with ease it removed the enamel paint.

Having got the kit back to its original condition and after a bit of simple construction and some paint and decals here's the result. For a kit tooled in 1971 it went together nicely with no gaps or badly fitting parts so thanks for looking and any comments that you leave cheers John

My little flight school as now doubled in size.

Glad you like it Joe as the markings are from Queenstown New Zealand (Milford Sound Flightseeing)

No mention of bongo van in the instructions lol.

Very nice bringing back memories. They used to fly in and out of Jersey to the Islands.

The last Trilander in Jersey designated "JOEY" famous in the islands amongst the kids is just retiring.
