    1/72 Sword Fairey Gannet AEW.3

    Morning All,

Haven't been posting much lately. I've been really busy with a new business endeavour but I have managed to get this one finished.

This is the new Sword offering, not the most sophisticated kit but it doesn't build up too badly. No real issues but the lack of clear instructions and no fitting lugs mean the lots of test fitting and double checking photographic references is required.

    And with its stable mate.

    Thanks for looking

Like the model mate. The gannet is one chunky looking bird though!

Nice looking models with very good weathering on such a scale.

Never built a gannet but might look into one in the future

                Awesome builds

                Regards

Nice one Jason. The finished product doesn't show the kit's lack of sophistication at all, and the surface detail looks great. I bet you had fun painting that spinner!

Beautiful job Jason , it looks superb. How do you rate the Sword kits ? I ask because theyve brought out some very tempting kits just lately , nice subject matter and reasonable prices , cheers tony

This is my first run in with a Sword kit Tony. For the price £13 I was pleasantly surprised. The part count was fairly low but there was a little PE sheet with tiny little belts and stuff. The surface detail is excellent and from my references, pretty accurate. The decals were very nice if a little on the thick side and a couple were missing from the sheet even though they feature on the instructions. I wouldn't recommend this kit to a complete newbie but with a little experience and care it builds up well. With some of the more unusual subjects they seem to be tooling I doubt it will be my last Sword kit. Go for it mate.

Jason a very nice clean model. Like the not overstated weathering.

Actually it looks 1/48 so a lot of skill required at 1/72. Fascinating aircraft

Fairy did model makers proud as their aircraft are very attractive and interesting to view.
