Airfix 1/72 Lockheed Hudson 1

This is my effort to build this old Airfix kit given to me by a friend. It was not the easiest to build, the fot was terrible and as you can see the decals were not that great either. Still I got it finished, sl all comments welcome, as they help me improve.

That's turned out well.Ive made this kit a few times over the years and it takes a lot of work to get it looking half decent.

I've given you a great build Dan. For a kit of that age you've done a fantastic job of it

Nice work Dan. Nice looking aircraft with the radial engines.

Nice job Dan, not easy to get a good finish on some of these older kits but you've done a good job.

Nice one Dan, the engines look particularly good. I think this kit might be older than me (and that's saying something), so you've done a great job with some pretty rough material. I notice the finish is quite glossy. My WW2 aircraft builds are always dead matt (Vallejo matt varnish), but I often wonder whether that's right. When I look at the real thing, there's always a bit of a sheen. It would be interesting to hear what others on the forum think - or am I opening a huge can of worms there?

Nice job, if the kit is as hard as the guys say you have done some magic on it.

Nice job on a subject I don't often see. I find old Airfix (and Matchbox) a nice trip into nostalgia.

Nice job Dan. Regarding the sheen, it's your model and if it looks right to you then that's good enough. For what it's worth I think a semi Matt finish more accurately represents a scale factory fresh WWII aircraft. I give mine a light coat of Tamiya semi Matt clear and when it's dry give it a quick buff with a lint free cloth. But like the others have said you have made a great job of a very old kit. Nice one mate.
