First Jet attempt in 20 years AV-8B Harrier

My Wife has been after me to build her favorite aircraft so it had to be done. Go easy on me its been since the 80's that I've attempted a jet build and I was'nt much good at it then. The kit was monogram and was pretty straight forward ,the only trouble was the crappy decals they were thick as phone books and old. The war department is happy so mission accomplished hope yall like it

When the boss suggest a build, it's best just to do it. At least your lady came up with a great subject.

Well I'm sure she's very happy with the result, it looks great, and not a scheme I've come across before. Nice job,

    Regards

Top job as usual Trey.Did you know the British Government has grounded/Retired all our Harriers?.Hope we never get another Falklands style conflict as we wouldnt have a chance without these brilliant aircraft. At least the US Marine corps still recognise their worth.

Well Trey I hope Mrs Trey was pleased with that. Regardless of being your first jet in 20 years, you have still made a very nice job out of it.

Seems odd seeing a harrier in US markings, to me at least.

@Dave; in some rather weird and sadistic way I hope that there is an other "Falklands crisis" Then your Dear Prime minister and MoD will find out that its maybe not such a good idea to be an Island Nation With next to no Navy, NO Aircraft carriers, and no aircraft to fly off them. This is NOT a political rant as politics is the second thing I find totally boring. (the first is football).

        Sorry for the Highjack Trey.

Top job Trey,it certainly looks good to my inexpert eye.

Ian,my dad was a Fleet Air Arm pilot. He was incandescent with rage at the inability of the Navy to protect its ships at the time of the Falklands conflict. In his time that was the primary role of the F.A.A. Just imagine what would have happened if more of the bombs that hit our ships had exploded. He was very upset when the previous Ark Royal was scrapped. He had served in 801 Squadron, during the 1950s,with the man who was in command of her as she sailed to the scrap yard. In a strange way I'm relieved that he did not live to see the sorry state of his beloved service today. This isn't a political rant either, just a sad observation.

          Sic transit gloria mundi.

          Cheers

          Steve

Brilliant work Trey - I love the USMC grey green on these beautiful machines and you've done it well!

I'd like to agree with all the pro-harrier/navy/armed forces comments so far. As an avid Harrier fan I have never been tired of reading and reading and reading about the Falklands and any other deployments of the Harrier. Was a sad day indeed when they were binned. And to be replaced by something that will probably not make it, and if it does, over budget and late.... How does that sound familiar..... oh yeah, the Typhoon....
