    Ilyushin IL-28 Beagle, Airfix, 1/72

incredibly old kit, was new tool in 1968, been fun to do something thats was on my want list back in the 70's when i was into model making the first time round

struggled a little as i always do with aircraft, tried a bit of preshading, forgot to spray the canopy twice like i did everything else lol, decals were a pain, they were a little bit reluctant to come off even though i used very hot water. was nervous when i unmasked that nose section......hate masking lol

instructions say it depicts an aircraft of the 221st Division of the Soviet Air Force, based at Oranienburg, Germany 1956

Top job of a geriatric kit paul. I love to see a great result obtained from an ancient moulding , all too often modellers are spoilt with the latest kits that contain everything you need and literally fall together , its good to keep the skills alive by bashing one of these old kits into shape now and again , cheers tony

i agree, doing an old kit give a great sense of satisfaction i find, this was a really basic kit but was a lot of fun

another forum im on is having a GB soon.....any thing from the Airfix 1980 (or before) catalogue (1981 was when they ceased to be an independant company, went bust, and bought by Palitoy and all the moulds shipped off to Heller.......and we know what a disaster that was).....so that GB should be fun.....in fact i need to think about what im going to do lol
