    Eduard 1/48 Hellcat Mk.I

Good day to you all. Finished this one over the weekend.

    FN430, No.1844 Sqn FAA, P/O Hannay, HMS Indomitable, August 24, 1944

It's part one of my Hellcat Dual Combo kit, all the usual PE, masks and a couple of sets of very nice resin wheels. Thoroughly enjoyed building it. It goes together quickly and the fit is very good indeed.

Painted in Tamiya Acrylic. Pre and post shaded and a MIG wash. The exhaust staining was a little bit of a practice with my new airbrush and compressor set up

I picked this kit up for £28 which is about the same price as one Profipack Hellcat, I thought that was amazing value.

Anyway, still got another one to do. Think I'll stick a load of bombs under it!

    Thanks for stopping by

Faultless Jason , I love it . The attention to detail in the painting is brilliant . The way youve depicted the oil staining underneath and the lead whitening in the exhaust stain shows true research and authenticity. The FAA schemes always look great and yours is no exception , superbly faded and weathered , great build mate , cheers tony

That is excellent - one thing you tend not to see too well on the USN models is the exhaust stains because of the Sea Blue colouring, but with the lighter colours here it really shows up to good effect. I like the 1/72 hellcat they do, I may need to look out this dual-combo one now as well.
