Hi mates!!
News from my workbench: Ta 152 C-1 from HobbyBoss in 1/48 scale. The kit is GREAT!!!!
Due to an invitation of the RLM for a high-altitude high-line fighter, the Ta 152 was built at Focke-Wulf. "TA" refers to the chief engineer Kurt Tank at Focke-Wulf. Messerschmitt developed the Me 155 B as competition, the project was, however, due to lack of capacities at Blohm & Voss continues there as a BV 155 B.The development of the Ta 152 was carried out in two stages. In the first stage of this type of aircraft has been designed based on the Fw 190 A8 or D. In the second stage their own versions to follow. By installing the Jumo 213 A-engine (with water methanol injection), there were some changes to the hull. The size of the wing has been extended. The Ta 152 reached a speed of over 750km / h, making it one of the fastest piston-engined aircraft of its time.My model represents the variant C-1. The most significant difference is in the engine. The C version was equipped with a DB 603 L and gave the Ta 152 a top speed of over 730km / h in 10,000m height. As a primary armament MK 108 Motor cannon, two MG 151/20 were provided in the wing roots and two MG 152/20 above the engine. Due to the excellent test results a production figure of more than 2,000 aircraft was estimated by the RLM in early 1945th. This number was of course never reached. Although it came a few Ta 152 successfully used, but have no appreciable influence on the war.
Cheers
Stefan
