That's a great Spitfire, Ian, and good luck with the after school club. I did a similar thing when I was teaching 9 - 13s in the 1980s - we made the old Matchbox Harrier if I recall correctly. It was great fun. Back then, of course, the main competition was the Rubick's Cube.

Great idea and well done for giving up your time for them I have only just started this hobby and it's a great shame that so many clubs have folded I would love to meet like minded people unfortunately it's all cyber like this

Great to read this, I was at the RAF museum north London a few months ago and they run a scheme there where you can buy a kit for a few pounds and put it together next to the Lancaster. I'll be honest the 3 of us all very much adults considered sitting down with the kids and doing one
These initiatives are great to introduce new people to something they might otherwise not get a chance to try!

That's a fine Spit, Papa......very good job!!
Your "Airfix project" at school is a great idea. I hope you will inspire many kids for modelling.
Here in Germany it is also difficult to inspire youth for model building. And sometimes modelling is taken too seriously and the fun fades into the background. But I think that's typically german!!
Would be glad to hear (read), how your project has arrived at the kids.
