Ooouuh......another Fw 190 D-9.....again....booooooooring!!!
Here comes part 4 of my "Dora-Project". It shows the Fw 190 D-9 "Red 1", flown by Lieutenant Heinz Sachsenberg, leader of the famous "Sachsenbergschwarm", also known as "Parrot Squadron".
As I said in my other Dora-Rollouts, the 190's of the "Sachsenbergschwarm" had to protect the Me 262 jetfighters of "Jagdverband 44" at their takeoff and landing phase.
The Me 262 of JV44 operated from Munich-Riem. The Doras operated also from Munich-Riem and from Ainring (upper Bavaria).
To avoid being shot down by their own flak, the 190's recieved a flashy paint in red with white stripes on the bottom.
Cheers
Stefan
PS: The last picture shows the (official) complete "Sachsenbergschwarm", landed on our dining table....
