    Ju87D-3 1/48 Hasegawa

This started out as a fun destress build, turned into a struggle. I'm geussing this kit suffers fit issues by offering multiple versions of the airframe rather than retooling for each one. I get that, but each sub component needed filler, making for a lot of tedious sanding and rescribing. When I joined the wing to the Fuse I was impressed that it did'nt need any filler, especially after all the other bits did. My enjoyment was short lived as the port wing tip was 1/4 inch high. My fault for getting excited about the great fit and glueing the area before checking . I did find a work around without destroying the wing/root area. I used a razor saw and carefully cut along the seem at the wing bend , secured the wing ,pulled the tip down to the correct height and then filled the razor saw cut with thin Ca glue . I kept the weathering very light ,model master enamels followed with Testors Dullcote finished it off. The decals layed down nice after some Solvaset . The markings are for 2/NSGr.9 Italy 1944 . Thanks for looking cheers Trey

For a model that seemed to give you fits, it sure turned out nice. Like the color scheme.

Looking good now after all the filling and fit issues.

Not built any aircraft myself but always did fancy a 1/48 Ju 87 its just knowing which kit to try as a first aircraft build.

                  Beautiful Stuka Trey

Any fit issues are not evident in the final model - it's a lovely finish

                  Cheers

Sounds like you had real trouble here Trey but it's turned out lovely! I have a hasegawa 1/48 ju87 in the stash too and if it turns out as nice as yours I'd be well chuffed!
