Hi all;
After almost a year, I have finally finished the Tamiya big Mossie. I had a disaster with it - despite a gloss coat, the decals silvered badly, and when I tried to remove them, they refused to leave. So, I had to strip the model back down to bare plastic, and start again
. That then meant I had no stencil decals - I used an Xtradecal set for the main markings, but the sheet has no stencil details. No problem - Avieology do a 1/32 Mossie stencil sheet...except that it was out of print. So, after a 6-month wait, they at last re-ran it, and I pounced. It's a superb model, as you'd expect from Tamiya; precise engineering, and fantastic detail; it's just a pity their decals are rubbish!
So, at long last, here she is, finished as a 45 Sqn machine, based in India 1945. Sorry there aren't any more pics - she's a bit big for my photo booth!!
