    ICM Spitfire Mk. IX 1/48

    Hello guys,

Finally finished this frustrating ICM kit, flash everywhere, low quality plastic (easily broken), broken decals, bad instructions. I decided to heavily weathered the plane

Not the best result I guess, but quite happy that I able to finish it.

Flown by J. Plagis. Any comments are welcomed!! Thanks for looking

    Cheers

Excellent work Leo, from the sounds of it, it was a bit of a pig of a kit, it's turned out lovely, great work on the camo scheme, it really is a great looking build and well presented

Great work Leo it looks fantastic, but it's a pity about the decals breaking up on you.

Yep, ICM did send me a reply, but they just asked where I bought the kit, then that's it no more reply. So I decided to do a heavy weathering on it Ken. Thanks again Ken for offering the decals

Well for a battler you won, looks superb Leo!

I had one ICM kit and gave it away, it was rather cheap looking.

Well that turned out rather well all things considered.

ICM kits can be a bit of a challenge but they eventually build to quite a good likeness. Most of the aircraft of theirs that I have built have had there issues, the worst being the decals. ICM do not make good decals at all. I always go for after-market ones.

They are nowhere near shake and bake, more like slow food. Takes more time and efforts but the results are more pleasing.

Thanks Ian, ICM definitely one of the most difficult kit I've ever built.

I know it's not how you probably wanted it.

But hey you've overcome the problems and turned out a very interesting model.

                      Love it.

Great result Leo. A really worn and battle-weary look to your Spitfire.
