Number two for the photo GB

Here's my second effort for the photo GB.

It's a Fw190F-8/R1 of SG 2 operating in Hungary during the last winter of the war. It is built from the Hasegawa 1/32 scale Fw190A-8 kit with a few adaptations. I never did sort the correct canopy but I can change that later...maybe.

It is in a distinctive and unique winter camouflage.

Here's the original much published photograph.

    And here's my interpretation.

The front cowling ring and kenziffer (code number) 2 are both red on the model but appear much lighter than in the original photo due to the film/filters used in the original.

    Sorry Ron,no running man!

I'll add a proper colour walkaround later.

    Cheers

    Steve

Who needs a running man anyway?

This is one superb interpretation of the photo. Very well done, Steve.

    Cheers,

    Ron

      In glorious colour!

A walkaround, literally. This is image heavy.

My version of the upper camo

      And a chilly looking pilot

      Cheers

Very nice work Steve. That is a very careful study of the camouflage and well reproduced. It's begging for a small snowy dio! i know it's not really your thing to build dioramas but it would add some context to this very particular subject.

          Again, well done 5*

Glad you like it chaps.I appreciate the comments.

Paul,it would look good in a snowy dio but firstly I can't do dioramas and secondly,at this scale,it would be on the large size. I have enough trouble storing my models as it is! I'm afraid a whiteish back drop and a scattering of bicarbonate of soda is about the best I can do

                      Cheers

                          Maybe in a smaller scale.

Where to put stuff? I am allowed one shelf in the main living room, for one model, usually my latest.

And then I cram as many as I can onto shelves in the front room. It looks like Duxford or Hendon.

Everything else is stored in boxes in the loft.

                          Cheers

                          Steve
