Here is my Tamiya 1/32 F-51d painted in the scheme of South African AF #2 Sqn Korea 1951 based at K-10 Chinhae (decals are Aims)
here is the build link -
The only mod I did was to add the rocket mounds and to fill and sand the leading edges of the flaps as the kit has a step that should not be there.
The Aims decals are fantastic, the only hassle is that they give only one "Miss Marunouchi" decal and shows it to be on the left hand cowl. I looked ad a pix of the real # 361 and saw it on the right hand cowl when it did a forced landing. I then (after clearcoat) saw another pic of #361 with the name on the left cowl.
SO, either it had it on both sides, or after the prang and repir it was moved to the left sode
Either way, I am "scale correct"
It is an enjoyable kit to build, just allot of it to do but the fit is exelent.
Alclad duraluminium over grey and black pannels, sealed with alclad semi matt to simulate a highly weathered plane.
