    Airfix's new 1/48 Seafire F. XVII

Just thought I would post a couple of photos of the latest Seafire from Airfix.

The detail is very good. The fit was exceptionally good. The famous airfix panel lines are maybe a touch deep but width wise... fine.

I could go as far as to say that this latest offering from Airfix is every bit as good as a Tamiya kit!!!

The kit comes with two complete wings. one for the wing folded up and one that builds into the folded down wing. Nice touch as the need for either chopping up a wing to fold it, or glueing five sections together to make the read to fly version.

This is the folded version. Give me a while and I will be building another wings down.

          Really nice neat build Ian.

A pretty depiction of a pretty plane.

          Thanks for the pictures.

          Tony.

Very nice Ian. It's very tempting I might have to buy one. Well done.

My word you've been a busy boy haven't you!

They've all come out very well but this one is my favourite, though I admit to being a bit biased.

              Cheers

That looks great, Ian. With folded wings it's particularly useful for a crowded display cabinet, too!

Well thanks chaps. I have another in the stash. Either build it as the same with wings down, or I will do one of the other ones.

Your model looks great Ian. I nearly want one, but think I'll hold out for the contra rotating prop version.

Thanks chaps. I really was a great kit to build.

Colin, I too would love to grab one of those but I must admit to being on the verge of giving up waiting. T'is all very quiet over on the Airfix site as to when it will be out again.
