No, not this time Vaughan. I have the F4U-1a in the stash which I will build as a FAA Corsair later this year with clipped wings and I will do that as a build thread. I thought it would be more interesting than a more or less OOB Corsair build as there are plenty of them on the web.

Other build threads I am planning from my stash are the Tammy Mossie and the ZM P51 as I get to them.

          Thanks for your comments everyone...

Great job Barry , the corsair is such a fantastic looking aircraft , and this Tamiya version looks a super kit (I built the old Revell 1/32 ages ago and really enjoyed it but compared to this its prehistoric!!)cheers tony

Wow! This is stunning. As folks have already said, the underside weathering is flawless - amazing attention to detail - loving the undercarriage bays and doors! Tough act to follow.

Oh that's OK I thought I'd missed the build, looking forward to the F4U-1a with full build thread. Once again great result.

I too have the 1a I hope to build soon! I can only hope it's half as nice as this, as that would make it a great build.

Another stunning build from you Barry. The Corsair is an icon of the Pacific Theatre. I've read that the reason the dark blue colour became so matt, lightened and weathered, was because of a shortage of drinking water, ground crews cleaned the airframes with gasoline. Also coral dust and the heat obviously played a part.

Great build, I could look at this all day.

I would give a million stars but I would be here all day so a five star build will have to suffice s A1 class build.
