    Rick's 1/72 Airfix Avro Shackleton MR2 - completed

I finished this a while ago and I am really happy with it despite some of the fit issues. It is all out of the box except tape for the seat belts and Lycra for the HF aerials and painted with Vallejo Model Air paints and varnishes with a Mig pin wash and pigments for the exhaust stains.
The base is scratch built and has been used before for my Nimrod MR2 build, both aircraft types operated from RAF Kinloss so this model looks quite at home.
It came first in its class at my monthly IPMS club night, very happy.

A well deserved first if I may say so Rick. That looks really good.

Well done with the first place. Very well deserved as well. A great build all round. I see you got the decal issue sorted nicely.

To put it simply, that looks great. So great, I'm tempted to build one just to sit next to the Revell version. The same aircraft, but looks so different.

First place, well deserved Rick. You fought it and won. Nicely presented on that base, as you say it looks at home on the Kinloss apron.
