Lavochkin La-7

Here's another one I acquired part-built. Eduard Profipack, my first experience with PE, a couple of bits of which were captured by the carpet monster! I thought it was all going well until I used a fan heater to help dry the clear coat over the decals, when the undercarriage and radio aerial warped. I remade the aerial from a bit of sprue, and thought I got the main gear legs back straight by careful use of a hair dryer, but over the next few days they warped again. The tail wheel I just couldn't straighten, so here I present White 06, La-7 of the 2nd Czechoslovak Fighter Regiment, after a very heavy landing!

Nice work Peter, that looks very good indeed. It's just a pity about the fan heater incident, but we all live and learn.

Thanks Ian. It wasn't even very hot!
What surprised me even more was that the main legs straightened up nicely with a hair dryer, but then gradually returned to their post-fan heater deformity over a few days.

Peter, great build apart from the fan heater incident. If you have a stand handy, put the gear up and pose it in flight. I think the tail wheel on the LA7 retracted so that would solve both issues and leave you with an incident-free Lavochkin.
