This is my MiG-31B/BS built as BS "Blue 16" from AMK. It is an excellent kit (a fact I believe has been stated more than once), and I really did enjoy building it - especially with the KittyHawk MiG-25 fresh in mind. This kit ALMOST built itself.
Still, I managed to do a few screwups. For those of you with a sharp eye for details, you'll notice that these are not the R-40 Acrid missiles that came with the box. These are actually from my KittyHawk MiG-25... (yes, I f****d up the AMK ones).
The aircraft itself was finished back in november, with the exception of the missiles. These were painted and mounted only a few days ago - so I'm calling it done. All in all I'm satisfied, but there are (as usual) a few things I would have done differently if I had the opportunity, such as giving the missiles a better finish. Painted with various Tamiya acrylics (XF-19 Sky Gray and XF-2 Flat White mixed with a 4:1 ratio to achieve the right color), and weathered with various washes from AKs product range.
