    Sweet A6M2N Rufe 1/144 Number 2

Hi all , heres the second one from the sweet 1/144 nakajima a6m2n rufe ' floatplane fighter' boxing. I did this one in the IJN green scheme and wanted to make it a lot more weathered than the other, grey one. As usual for the sweet kits ,it went together beautifully and is amazingly detailed for its size, the only things i had to add were a pitot and aerial wire from my missus' hair. The chipping is done in silver and red brown as nakajima used a hardwearing red oxide primer , due to the seawater conditions these planes were in. Anyhoo, have a look. as always comments criticisms welcome, cheers tonylane:

Thanks vaughan, i couldnt manage without the illuminated magnifier ive got, i tend to do most of my detail work under it,whatever the scale!!!! I must admit though that the cockpit frame was a pain and trying to get a chipped paintwork effect without going too far is not something i want to repeat anytime soon!!LOL ! cheers tony

Cracking job, they do look well together too, and I have the utmost sympathy for your poor wife's bonce!

It's fine having a lit mag. glass, but can you give me any advise on how to stop me 'owd 'ands dithering about?!

          Nice one (or two)

          Cheers mate,

          Ron

Thanks ron, its a bit of a difference from one of the others on the bench at the moment- remember that 1/72 Tupolev Tu22m backfire i got at cosford the first time we went? From the bloke who was selling loads off at half price. Its nearing the paint stage, and its about 2 ft long !! cheers tony

Ha, ha, I must confess I don't remember the kit......I do remember the scrum down at his stall though!!!!!It will be nice to see the finished model, you should be able to store a few of your great 'Sweet' models inside it!

                  Cheers,

                  Ron

Oops! just googled it, I though it was one of the big Russian transporters.....ignore last paragraph!

Nice job Tony, and as many know, I like a dirty bird (or in this case a well used bird - - - where is this post going ?) Anyway, the model is great.
