    Airfix 1/48 P51D

This new kit from Airfix goes together very well. The engine upper cowl is a separate piece. So no join to deal with. Which means no loss of detail.Cockpit is very good.Although you can’t see much of it in this scale. And the decals are superb.I like this kit so much I will probably buy another one.The eagle eyed amounts to you will notice I’ve put the decals on the wrong side of the prop!. That’s because I finished the prop BEFORE I sandwiched it between the two halves of the spinner. Then when it’s too late I noticed my error. The spinner should have red bands. These are supplied as decals. But I messed them up.

                      Very nice indeed
Like a Spitfire, you can never have enough P-51s
                      Lovely bright colours too.
I may have to invest in one for the stash

                      Regards

                      Robert

Nice looking Mustang! I am considering this kit to accompany my old Italeri/Testors P-51D.
