SAAF 1/48 Italeri Mirage F1 Az

Here is is, not exactly what I planned for this model but it is what it is

Colours are my own mix of enamels with alclad clearcoat to seal it all.

Painted to represent a SAAF late Angolan war scheme, note the total lack of any national markings.

Great job and a nice flat finish. Flying with no national markings, I thought there was some sort of ruling aircraft had to be marked. Hence the reason for low viz markings, fairly useless to ID the nation that owns the aircraft, but necessary by law ? But don't quote me - meds might be wearing off.

There are airlaws stating that aircraft need to carry markings and need to have permition to cross international borders but during the Angolan war they must have thought that if the enimy can cross borders and attack us they could do the same....alll is fair in love and war they say ;-)

The Sqn badge is still on the tail aswell as the tail number so anyone could figure out who's plane it was, only SA operated F1's in the conflict, they all had MiG 's
