    Pete's 1/72 BV141

Well, I'm calling this finished - plenty of bits could be better, but it's a 48 year old kit (and a 70 year old builder!) so can't expect perfection.

The swastikas weren't included in the kit - these were surplus from my Eduard FW190.

Apparently (according to Airfix) the boarding ladder remained deployed during flight.

Canopy isn't as clear as I'd like, and needs a touch-up here and there.

I hadn't noticed how far out of register the decals are until they were on the 'plane. With hindsight, I should have asked Airfix for a newer set of decals when I ordered the replacement canopy.
All things considered though, I'm fairly pleased with it. I wouldn't want to mask that canopy without the pre-cut masks, but otherwise it was an enjoyable build. So, thanks to Ron for persuading me to buy the kit at Cosford, to the seller for accepting my cheeky offer, and to all of you who've commented.
    Cheers
    Pete

Well that's certainly a lot of "glass" to mask up, I can see why you were hesitant about starting it.

Looks great though and I really like the outdoor shots

Thanks for that, and for your help on the colours Tim. Yes, it's a bit out of the ordinary!

Thanks Andy. It was worth it in the end but 88 clear panels, plus poor definition of the frames, would have been a nightmare without pre-cut masks.

          Pete.

You build looks great, even more so considering the age of the kit. However, I think I can see why the real aircraft didn't really catch on - what were they thinking !

Nice result Pete, don't you love it when these PC knuckle heads think they are saving the
World by sending along an incomplete decal sheet? Again, great work and nice recovery on
the "tail markings". Cheers, Rick H.

                  Very nice Pete.
I too have suffered from canopy photo let down, I should have gone to specsavers but yours looks fine to me.
                  Very well done.

Perhaps they hoped the Allies would be too busy laughing to shoot at it? Actually it seems to have performed pretty well.
Thanks Colin, Rick, Paul, Ron, Joe, much appreciated.
