    Phil's Eduard 1/48 FW 190 D-9 Red 1

    Hi Guys

This is my second FW 190 D-9 W.Nr 600 424 Red 1 of Lt. Heinz Sachsenberg, Staffelkapitän of the Platzschutzstaffel of J.V. 44, München-Riem, Germany, April 1945.
There isn't a build thread for this as this was a commission build for a guy in Germany (hence the lack of swastikas)
There is a thread of my original build somewhere on here if your interested. Again Profipack meant PE was included and some scratchbuilding was done (brass gun barrels cabling, hydraulic lines, inspection hatch aux fuel tank ect).
All features such as open bays, closed canopy ect were at the clients request.

Fit is not great around the firewall area on this kit but I knew that coming into it from last time so wasn't to much of a problem. Overall it makes into a good model.

Thanks for looking, haven't posted for a while so as always comments welcome.

    Cheers

Love it. I have this kit in 1/32 to do and will be using Montex masks to replace the main decals. One little thing may i ask though. I thought JV44 aircraft had wooden paddle propellers and therefore wouldn't have metallic wear/chipping on the leading edges? Please correct me if i am wrong as i usually am lol.

Possibly a lot more props were made from wood towards the end, but it depended what was around I believe. Never seen a picture of the red 1 prop but seen a picture of the red 13 prop and it looked like metal. Who knows? Good luck with the 1/32 build
