Northrop F5-E Tiger, 1/32 Scale Kitty Hawk

    Here she is...

A significantly better kit than that dreadful Kitty Hawk OV-10 Bronco, but it is still full of trademark Kitty Hawk issues, badly positioned ejector pins, some poor engineering choices, poor instructions, poor quality plastic, questionable fit (almost every ejector pin and tab needed a but of trimming or location point extending). In all it is not a kit for beginners and even experienced modellers need to take care. But, while not a good kit, I would not describe it as a bad kit and with care a good result can be had. It is sad that Kitty Hawk cannot take a bit more pride and diligance in their work..... I am not longer saying 'never agin' to Kitty hawk but I will not jump to get one of their kits and I will view releases with suspicion. If they release a 1/32 Jaguar then I will consider it with a low expectation.....

Anyway here is the model. All paints and varnishes MRP, AKI weathering pencils and washes, Uschi Metal Powders all used plus a test use of the Tamiya Weathering set for the metal exhast discolourisation.

Well Barry that turned out very nice indeed. (and you got the blade antennae to play nicely!).
Great finish on the paint work too.

Very nice indeed Barry, to say it's not the best of kits.

Really good-looking model — both the plane itself and the finish Also nice to see how big it really is with those hands to give a sense of scale

Very nice build Barry and a triumphant one with a Kittyhawk kit.

                    Cheers,
