Next one of the line. Ive not done any weathering just plane airbrushed. May add some at some point but I’m still very much learning and practicing with each model.

Thanks for the comments. As I’ve said before I’m learning as I go and from my mistakes and my models are far from perfect but hopefully with each new build I get a little better. Next build is the Heinkel He111 H-6 1:48 scale.

Lovely job carl , great paintwork . Dont sweat about the weathering , it looks just as good in factory fresh finish . Personally I think theres far too much emphasis on weathering these days, its almost as if any model not weathered/ pigmented / filtered / oil dotted / panel line washed to within an inch of its life isnt any good . I would rather see a model well built and painted and unweathered than one thats been ruined by overdoing it , i suppose its like a lot of things , its ok in moderation . Trouble is a lot of newcomers / beginners to the hobby see these videos on you tube etc and think that its mandatory to ink all panel lines and clart everything in weathering wash , often spoiling a perfectly well finished model. Anyway rant over back to the build , its great , i like it a lot :thumb2: :smiling4: Cheers tony

I know what you mean Tony and you are right about YouTube. I also watched many of these and thought this is the only way forward. I did start to apply this to my first few models but had mixed results and like you feel the fresh look to be just as satisfying particularly where aircraft are concerned. That said I quite like a small amount in moderation. The only model I built where excess weathering seemed to work well was in my WW1 tank which I was quite please with.
