    Well done on the explosive canopy coil. That bit would scare me! One booboo and it’s never going to be perfect ever again.

            If it helps, I just covered the area with Vallejo white grey, and when dried 'scraped' the paint back to the 'det cord' with a cocktail stick.. (It did take a couple of attempts, but I got there in the end)

                      Dave Morgan 'Hostile skies' tells the story from the Hermes perspective. A good read also.
