    British "Wyvern" S.4

Just finished my 1st Trumpeter kit. 1/72 British " Wyvern" S.4.
Enjoyable kit to build. Brush painted with acrylics. A couple of decals missing due to crumpling and tearing. Overall went together very well. A smidging of filler in a couple of places.Click image for larger version

Out of interest, are there any details in the kit for the insignia?
AFAIK deck code ‘O’ is HMS Ocean, which according to wikipedia was launched in ‘95.

                Paul,
A nice result of an interesting aircraft. I was surprised given the power of the engine how slow it was.

From what I can see it entered service in 1953 with 813 squadron. Other wyvern units were 827, 830 & 831. November 1956, 830 & 831 took part in the Suez campaign. Only 830 took part in combat flights, losing 2 aircraft in 79 sorties.
813 was the last squadron to be disbanded in 1958.
Hope this helps. Also included a picture of the painting quite I used.Click image for larger version

That's ok. Something else that's I thought was interesting that I've just found out, only 127 were built.

Nicely done and an 'Interesting' looking plane as Jakko said.

Not come across it before and so had a look online for info. it appears to have been a pretty unsuccessful one at that and also be pretty dangerous for the pilots, judging by the number of accidents quoted on Wikipedia.

                            Thanks for sharing.
