    Tamiya F4U-1D Corsair 1/72

    Hello there,

I finally complete my first Tamiya kit and it is Corsair. The kit was awesome and many things that I have tried on this set went well, such as:
    • New paints
    • tried to make some chipping effect
    • airbrushed some smoke effects

Below are some pictures of VF-84,No.167, carrier Bunker Hill, 1945 Feb:

That's a nice tired looking Corsair you've produced. I know what you mean about the build of these little Tamiya's. I built the same kit on my return to the hobby a few years ago, great quality.

Nice result. Tamiya are often nice kits to build.

Yup, In my eyes I dont think these birds were realistically taken care of in terms of paint during the heat of war. I think the focus of the crew was to make it fly and shoot down other planes, less so on paint. Maybe I am wrong.
