Airfix 1/48 Fokker built Hawker Sea Fury F.BMK.51

This is my first venture into 1/48th scale aircraft and the first Airfix model I have built since I was a young lad when you could buy an Airfix model in a bag for 2/6d.
As there isn't a 1/32 scale Fury so I decided to try the Airfix model. Detail is good panel lines may be a little deep but I can live with that. The only issue I had was the engine cowling which Chris resolved with his build so I followed his remedy. There is a choice of three versions Royal Navy, Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Netherlands Naval Air Service. I picked the last version as It has a good colour call out and interesting roundels. Hats off to all you guys that build at this scale and lower as this is pushing my limits with the eyesight. Anyway all comments welcome.

That is a cracking finish as Tim said. And a different choice of markings too.

I hope mine comes out that well!

Love the red on the nose particularly.

I'm sure yours will Chris you've got some great detail in your cockpit I don't know how you dealt with all the p.e parts. Looking forward to your finished build.

                Hi Vaughan
That's very nice indeed. Really neatly built and painted. If that's your first 1/48 aircraft then I reckon the result will encourage you to build more.

I’m not too fond of that MLD paint scheme, but the model looks good (Also interesting to see that there apparently wasn’t enough room — or possibly stencil letters — to paint KONINKLIJKE in full …)
