    mosquito iv 1/48 Revell

fixed my canopy with thanks to all the suggestions .... it looks ok. i must admit if i spot a model that i want to build and the supplier is Revell i will think twice .. was just an akward and uncomfortable build at times. but i got there in the end .... obviously trying to improve in all areas .. much more patient :rolling:, weathering is coming along and my airbrush work is steadily improving ....

Nice fix with the canopy Lindsey, one very fine looking Mosquito.

      Lindsey

Despite the problems with the canopy that's turned out very nicely indeed.

Showing off the graceful lines of the mosquito well there. Excellent work and a good catch on the canopy.

i sanded it slightly and made the gap as small as possible .. then once in place glued in clear glue which i sanded afterwards. then a dash of paint and weathering to 'hide it" as best as possible. it will not stand up to close scrutiny but looks decent from a distance .....

Hi Lindsey, good effort. Now I can see the problem and why there is a gap. If I'm not mistaken you've fitted the earlier canopy for the hard nosed version of the Mosquito. The bomber version didn't have the flat forward windscreen but a later two piece wedged shaped with a single frame spar in the middle. Did the kit come with this canopy?
Anyway it doesn't look too bad. Still looks like a Mosquito.

              Cheers,
              Richard

                Nice build Lindsey.
The last flying example used to fly out of Broughton Airfield (Then De Havilland) near Chester, here in the U.K. It would regularly circle the skies over our bungalow before landing. Sadly, it crashed in 2011, killing both crew members....

                  That is a cracking result.

Aaaah ... It does ... It was 2 individual pieces .... I obviously plumped for the "easier" approach ....... Live and learn ...:smiling3:
