    A little 'what if..?'

    Well, here's one for you, and kind of adjunct to the 1/300th posts...
    Anyone care to guess what I'd call this 'plane. It's a modern Airfix iteration, but why these markings?

      Nice thought, but then it should have ATIAU or something similar

      Imagine this as a service scheme, the markings and camo being from the 'real' equivalent

          Okay. Not a Zero but a Mitsubishi Martlet, or Mahturetu as would be the Japanese pronuhciation

          Taking the basic premise that the Anglo-Japanese Naval Treaty was maintained, we buy these for the FAA in 1941. Colours are actual IJN rather than FAA
          I was going to do a 'Kate' in Vultee Vengeance markings (or a Fulmar scheme) to go with it, but that's another idea unfinished

          Of course, there'd be confusion in the Channel when the190s appeared...
